REPETITION! REPETITION! REPETITION!
...It is through repetition that possibility becomes ability!
Each time your child is exposed to a new object or experience, new neural connections are formed. However, a one-time experience is never enough for a neural connection to stabilize. It is through repetition that neural connections are strengthened and learning occurs.
Repetition strengthens and stabilizes the connections, (synapses), between brain cells and stimulates the production of myelin. Myelin, a fatty substance that coats the neural fibers, allows communication to flow more quickly and easily between the brain cells.
Myelination occurs most rapidly in the first two years of life as your child's brain is required to process so much new information. This entire process is sometimes referred to as "wiring" the brain for learning!
So, all that said... a 45 minute class once a week is not nearly enough time for meaningful learning to take place. That's where you come in! YOU are your child's best teacher and your home is the ideal place to reinforce the learning we do in class. The real benefits of My Mini Music only happen when what we learn in class is repeated at home. So, sing that song AGAIN, read that book AGAIN, and dance that dance AGAIN ...in your child's most familiar and nurturing environment -your home!
